“Kit’s experience as an elected official and in the non-profit realm makes her an ideal fit for our team. With her wealth of knowledge of local and state governments, Kit will ensure our members’ voices are heard at every level,” stated Robert Gleason, GFWAR CEO.

Before joining GFWAR, Marshall served in a volunteer position as Mayor of Aledo for 16 years and as a council member for four years. During this time, she also served on regional committees with the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council. Marshall had a guiding hand in the growth of several economic development initiatives as the 14-year President of the Aledo Economic Development Corporation and a founding member of the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce. Marshall was recognized for her dedication to the betterment of her community with the Presidential Award for Volunteerism and the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Pappy Thompson Public Service Award.

“It’s vital to have a seat at the table. That is why I plan to work tirelessly to strengthen relationships within our community and with elected officials,” said Marshall. “I’m looking forward to advocating for our members and the real estate industry.”

With a degree in social work from Oral Roberts University, Marshall started her career in the non-profit sector, working with several non-profit organizations before working in county government. She’s held various leadership positions on local and regional governing entities as well as religious and volunteer organizations. A Texan since the age of two, Marshall is a long-time resident of Aledo. Away from work she relishes time with her family and grandchildren, volunteering and traveling.
