GFWAR and the Charter Schools Coalition have teamed up to educate Realtors on the FWISD Choice Schools and Charter School options in Tarrant County. Join us to discover the great public schools in our own backyard. Learn more about how Charter and Choice schools work and be able to pass that information along to your clients. If the tour has at least 20 attendees, there will be a drawing for a $300 visa gift card!

On March 27, we will tour Chapel Hill Academy (4640 Sycamore School Road, Fort Worth, TX 76133) and Southwest High School (4100 Altamesa Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76133). Please go directly to Chapel Hill Academy for a visit starting at 9:30 a.m. and then visit Southwest High School. You can attend one or both, there is parking at both schools.

About Public Charter Schools:
Public charter schools were created by the state in 1995 to have the flexibility to adapt to the educational needs of individual students and encourage more innovation in education. Like traditional ISD schools, public charter schools are tuition-free, open enrollment, and accountable to the state for student achievement. Charter campuses have the option of buying textbooks other than those approved by the state and have greater flexibility in hiring practices, which provide public charters opportunities to innovate. Most important, public charter schools offer a choice that allows parents and students to be more involved in a structured environment where students can achieve.
