Sherry Matina, Chief Executive
Officer
With over 29 years of experience as a real estate licensee,
Sherry Matina is well-versed when it comes to the real estate
industry. She served as the 2002 chair of the TAR Association
Executives Council. In addition, she was a presidential appointee
to the TAR executive committee and has served as a TAR Director
and as a volunteer on numerous committees and task forces
on the local, state and national levels. Also, she was the
president of the Texas chapter of Certified Residential Brokers
(CRB) in 1998. Prior to her position with GFWAR, Sherry was
the executive vice president of Wm. Rigg, Inc., REALTORS®.
She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
Dottie Pletch, Executive Assistant
Assisting with administrative matters, Dottie Pletch knows
the ropes when it comes to GFWAR operations. She handles the
proceedings for grievance and professional standards and is
responsible for preparing the official minutes for the executive
committee, Board of Directors and SCR meetings. In addition,
Dottie coordinates GFWAR programs to raise money and support
for Greenbriar Elementary School, GFWAR’s Adopt-A-School.
Prior to GFWAR, Dottie worked as an administrator for Wm.
Rigg, Inc., REALTORS®. She attended Germanna Community
College and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Virginia.
Mary Chilton, Controller
With over 18 years of business accounting experience, Mary
Chilton ensures that GFWAR stays on track, financially. As
controller, Mary is responsible for all financial reporting
for the Association. She oversees the accounting department
and is in charge of general GFWAR operations. Prior to her
position, Mary was an accounting supervisor at Bass Enterprises
Production Company, where she managed all accounting functions
for multiple companies and partnerships. She has a Bachelor
of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University
of Texas in Austin.
Theresa Diaz, Director of Billing
& MLS Compliance
With four years of experience in the GFWAR accounting department,
Theresa Diaz knows the ropes when it comes to billing. As
the director of billing and MLS compliance, Theresa is responsible
for managing membership dues billing and MLS billing. In addition,
Theresa is in charge of issuing fines to those who do not
follow MLS guidelines. Before joining GFWAR, Theresa worked
for FDN Corporation as the business manager for non-profit
retail stores. Known for her retail savvy, she has over 12
years experience in retail management. Theresa attended Northwood
University in Desoto, Texas.
Robert Gleason, Director of Governmental
Affairs
With
extensive experience in lobbying for REALTOR® causes and
private property rights on the local, state and national levels,
Gleason handles the governmental affairs for the Association.
He is known for his lobbying efforts at City Hall and beyond
and works hard as an advocate for the Texas Real Estate Political
Action Committee (TREPAC). In addition, he is responsible
for conducting political candidate interviews, directing fundraising
programs for TREPAC, and communicating Board policy positions
to elected officials. Gleason has an M.A. in political science
from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and a B.B.A.
in finance from the University of Texas in Austin.
Lee Ann Dempsey, Director
of Member Services
Because of her job description, Lee Ann Dempsey is
a popular member of the GFWAR staff. She has worked at
GFWAR for over 12 years and is well acquainted with the
membership, serving as the director of member services and
MLS for
the past nine years. Her responsibilities include managing
the MLS system and MLS education at GFWAR, assisting the
membership with MLS questions, providing valuable membership
services to new and current affiliate members and serving as the chief liaison with TAR and NAR in regards to membership
issues. Prior to her position at GFWAR, Lee Ann worked at
Child Care Management Services. She attended Tarrant County
College.
Meghan Sheehan, Director of New Member
Development
Offering expertise in member assistance, Meghan Sheehan has
new member appointments down to an art. As the director of
new member development, she is responsible for educating and
assisting new members and guiding them through the GFWAR new
member process. She also is in charge of organizing and distributing
Supra keys and providing MLS assistance. In addition, Meghan
is responsible for new member recruitment. She comes to GFWAR
with experience in the restaurant and banking industries and
received a bachelor of business administration degree with
an emphasis in marketing at TCU.
Rebekah LaMontagne, Director
of Communications
As the word-smith at GFWAR, Rebekah LaMontagne is known for
her witty communiqués. Her responsibilities include
disseminating information to GFWAR members and staff, as well
as marketing GFWAR to the community. She is in charge of the
monthly newsletter and the Web site. In addition, Rebekah
assists with event planning for both GFWAR and SCR. Prior
to GFWAR, Rebekah was an account executive at Stuart Bacon
Advertising ~ Public Relations. She graduated with a bachelor
of science degree in advertising and public relations from
TCU.
Dawn Marie Brown, Director of Customer
Service / Store Manager
Managing
the REALTOR® store and front desk area, Dawn Marie Brown
is known for her warm smile and kind spirit. Most often seen
at the front desk, her responsibilities include stocking and
managing the REALTOR® store as well as providing customer
assistance to those who call or enter the Association building.
Before joining GFWAR, she worked as a Senior Account Executive
at Walton Stations of New Mexico, Inc. in Ruidoso, NM.
She is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico State University,
where she received an arts and sciences degree with an
emphasis in art.
Richard Lamar, Director of IT
Support
Working part-time at GFWAR in technology services, Richard
Lamar is a whiz when it comes to the computer. His responsibilities
include technological support for the GFWAR staff and computer
assistance. Richard also fills in at the front desk when needed.
Prior to GFWAR, Richard worked at Siemens Dematic in
technical support. He also has had several contractual jobs in
which he has worked to upgrade hardware and migrate data.
Nina Pham, Office Assistant
Nina
Pham is the newest member of the GFWAR team and works
part-time as an administrative assistant. As a
jack-of-all-trades, Nina processes new member applications,
provides customer service at the front desk, assists with
store inventory and manages data-entry for the membership
department. Nina is a sophomore at TCU and is a member of the
National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Prior to GFWAR, Nina
worked at Hollister Co. where she offered expertise in
customer service, inventory and merchandising.
