The Society of Commercial REALTORS® (SCR) is an organization of commercial
real estate professionals in Tarrant County and surrounding areas that operates independently and under the auspices of GFWAR. SCR has its own governing body and bylaws, and its chief mission is to advance knowledge, education and integrity in the fields of commercial and investment real estate.

SCR provides a number of benefits for its members that include:

• Exposure – SCR offers commercial practitioners a broad range of opportunities to market properties. Also, members receive exposure in the member directory on the GFWAR & SCR Web sites.

• Networking – SCR is one of the few organizations in Tarrant County where commercial real estate professionals can network specifically with other commercial practitioners, opening doors to deal making opportunities.
  
  
• REALTOR® Name – Because SCR is under the umbrella of GFWAR, its members adhere to the ethical and professional standards that all REALTOR® members follow. Therefore, the REALTOR® name gives credibility and accountability to all SCR members.

• Education – Offering commercial MCE classes, designation courses, and technology and industry updates, SCR is on the forefront in providing its members the tools needed to stay competitive within the ever-changing field of commercial real estate.

• Governmental Affairs – Monitoring issues that affect commercial real estate on the local, state and national levels, SCR lobbies for positive legislation and works to defend its members from legislation that might have negative effects on the commercial real estate industry.

• Professional Development – With opportunities available to serve on committees and on the Board of Governors, SCR provides its members a means to develop their leadership and professional skills. In addition, awards of merit are given to those members who exemplify these skills. GFWAR also offers professional development opportunities to prepare members for leadership not only on the local level, but on the state and national levels
  as well.
  
• Membership Directory – All SCR members receive access to the online SCR and GFWAR member directories, which lists all GFWAR / SCR members' contact information. These directories allow SCR members the ability to easily contact one another with speed and efficiency. 
  
• SCR Member-to-Member E-mails – All SCR members have access to the Members Only portion of the SCR Web site located at www.scr-fw.org and can send e-mails to all SCR members with a click of a button by logging-in to this portion of the SCR Web site.
  
• Cost Break – SCR members receive a cost break on admission to monthly breakfast meetings and various other SCR events. In addition, SCR offers price reductions for SCR-sponsored classes and merchandise from the REALTOR® store.

• Professional Standards – Since all REALTORS® must adhere to the NAR Code of Ethics, it’s the duty of GFWAR to educate its members regarding this ethical code and administer a course of action to those who do not comply. SCR falls under this standard as well, keeping a little “law and order” among practitioners.

• REALTOR® Benefits – Members of SCR receive REALTOR® benefits such as free legal consultation and advice, marketing tools, entry into discount programs and forms and contracts provided by the Texas Association of REALTORS®.
